Take your child | AdultHumorOnly | image tagged in take your child | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
While I agree, I made a stream for adults in the meantime.

I feel it's very precarious around h ere with all these 9 and 10 year olds running around. I feel like I can't just meme they way I want to because these kids parents are too busy binge watching the Walking Dead to keep an eye on their kids. This site is definitely NOT for kids. I really wish there was a way to get these young kids out of here.

I would just continue memeing the way you want to, as long as it doesn’t violate TOS of course. Don’t let other users dictate how creative you can be.

Sorry, but as a mother I can't with a clear conscious put certain memes out there that I would not want to post for my own kids. I find it bothersome when some young kid responds to something I made that is definitely not meant for children.

Hmmm.... what if there was a feature where we could set an age requirement for a stream? Like we could make an actual adult stream or make adult streams for adults only (Boobs, Booty, Ecchi, other porny stuff)
4 ups, 5y,

Not sure how they could really enforce that. The trouble is unless some type of legit age verification measures are in place anyone can lie about their age and the issue continues. Which is why parents at home need to be doing their jobs.

Hmm.... Yeah I meant like implementing an age system... maybe we could either tell them to set their birthday or see their birthday through the verified email (if that works idk I'm not a tech pro) and the system will close off some streams from users that don't make the stream age requirement

I know that is what you mean. I am saying that people can (an do) lie about their birthday. There is no way to verify that they have given their actual date of birth. I don't put any of my personal info online. My email has me at 110 years old.

Hm... yeah, I know. But maybe we could report users that we know are only at a certain age but are in an adult stream?
2 ups, 5y,

Yes, as we should already do for the site in general. I have reported underage users a few times. Not sure if they ever do anything about it. But that is the only tool we really have at our disposal.

ACTUALLY
The Imgflip guidelines state that there's some content that isn't supposed to be for children under 12 (I think)
I talked to a Global Mod about it (Hi Ollie) and we both agreed on one thing:
It's not "There may be unsuitable material for young users, so they CAN'T be on this site"
But actually "There may be unsuitable material for young users, so they SHOULDN'T be on this site"
See the difference?
If these "kids" are mature enough to handle that kind of content, they can stay on the site

Actually you do have to be 13 or older to be on here. The loophole is that since there’s no way to verify anyone’s age and that we don’t want to wrongly ban anyone, we can’t really enforce the rule.

Yes, which is why I said their parents need to be doing more parenting. And I assure you, none of these younger kids are mature enough to take in what is on this site most of the time. Just because they do, doesn't mean they should. Anyhoo, Not too sure what realistic solution there is for this.

Oh, okay! Thanks for the clarification Ollie!

Okay then, those VERY YOUNG kids are not suitable for this site. They just genuinely make a lot of it unfunny.
Thanks for the clarification!
2 ups, 5y
I know if I caught my kids in here they would never see technology again. I have all passwords to all devices and accounts. Actually, any accounts they have are registered under my name and email. I like to keep an eye out.

"None"?
I've talked to plenty of younger users, and some of them are pretty mature.
Heck, I knew one that went through... unspeakable things... when she was younger, and I think she's as mature as an adult user

But yes, there are plenty of immature and trolly children on this site, but we have to figure out an actual solution instead of throwing all of the younger users out of the fence
2 ups, 5y
Sorry, but no. MOST of them are not. MAYBE a few in the teen crowd. I have yet to see a mature 10 year old.
[deleted]
1 up, 5y
That's very responsible! Lots of parents now don't know the importance of internet safety, especially for younger children!
[deleted]

Yes, that is what I'm trying to say. Most of them are trolly youngsters, but there are people in the higher ranges that are actually pretty mature. I don't think these people should be thrown out with the others, because they genuinely bring good content and fun to the site and to the community.
2 ups, 5y
But my whole conversation is about these VERY YOUNG kids. Not the teen aged crowd. Just for clarity.

Nixie already beat me to it. There’s no way to truly verify your age unless we make you enter your Drivers License number or some other government ID, which I think is a bit of an overstep. I will disagree with Nixie and point out that kids the vast majority of the time are way smarter with the internet than their parents are. If they really want to get around the restrictions the parents impose, there’s always a way to do so. So imo, it’s not really going to matter if the parents are involved or not if the kid is determined enough.
