Golly buddy. Have to let you know here as well.
Our local star will never actually grow and 'engulf the earth'.
Because of it's chemical composition, size, and heat, it will not continue to compress elements of itself into new ones and build until it creates Iron (Fe) and goes supernova.
Instead it's too small and too cold, and will instead slowly burn out because it just consumes itself.
Sad but true.
Earth and Space Science is a ton of fun! :D
