No, He didn't want robots, he wanted slaves... people whose only purpose is to serve and praise him, or burn for eternity. That's not a loving god, that's a sadist and a megalomaniac.
Lay aside the fact that Adam and Eve never actually existed (a bit of a complication for believers) it still doesn't answer the charge: is it moral to punish Adam and Eve's offspring for what their parents did? That is precisely what Original Sin is: the inheritance of The Sin of Adam by virtue of being his descendant. Guilt by birth. Completely immoral doctrine, plus it obviates the idea of freewill; you didn't choose Original Sin, it was gifted to you by your loving creator.
And, yes, Original Sin was given to humans by God. If He is truly omniscient and omnipotent, He would have seen it coming and would have had the power to stop it. So, by letting it happen, he willed it to happen.
