The various gangs which comprise the democrat party have never been so divided, and never so driven by hatred. It's difficult to imagine how the whole thing doesn't blow up.
And people having center-left inclinations aren't really constituents of the party in its current form. The party is now at the fringes, with an empty middle. So who's providing any moderation? Who in the party would even be willing to describe themselves as moderates?
Given all that, how could the party elite orchestrate an illusion of unity so soon? If nothing else, the Bernie bros, still smoldering from 2016, won't be silenced easily.
Sure, the situation could change a lot in the coming weeks, especially if the mainstream media is successful in recreating Biden as a non-senile centrist. But at this point, he's done a great job convincing everyone he's neither.
