Alexandria woke up, in a cold, dark room, with two other people she never met before. They were still asleep, but they were starting to stir. She was tied down, from her head, her arms, chest and everywhere, except her dominant hand. (Im assuming her right hand is untied.) Suddenly, in her pocket, a phone started to ring.

The lock opened with no resistance at all. The girl was a bit flustered, "o-oh, its fine! Dont worry about it!" a mechanical clunk was heard next.

Alexandria abruptly froze when she heard the mechanical clunk. "What was that? Wait, damn it, how much time do we have left?" She started looking at the others in the room with her. She'd almost forgotten the time limit. She might not have enough time to save everyone before they get crushed. Sacrificing herself to save the others would be the noble thing to do--but then again, when push comes to shove, her survival instinct would probably override any nobility she might have. And the girl... Alexandria felt bad for scaring her earlier and flustering her now. Leaving her to die would just make her feel worse about the situation.
That left the boy. He hadn't spoken a word at all to either of them since he had woken up. Alexandria began to distrust him for that very reason, and that was when her mind was set. If there wasn't enough time to save all three of them, he would be the one she would leave behind. But that was only if she ran out of time. There was time left, still, she hoped. Time left to save the whole group.

The boy, upon closer inspection, looked to scared to speak. He was sweating nervously, and shaking uncontrollably. He looked like he wanted to talk, but each time he opened his mouth, it looked like it got caught in his throat. He looked at Alex and choked out, "S-save my s-sister! P-please-!"

Alexandria sprang up from where she was, finally freed. She made a beeline for the girl and began looking for her lock when she heard the boy finally speak up. Wait, what? Sister? These two are related?! Well then. Now she can't bear to sacrifice HIM, either. But she's already freed herself. What the hell was she supposed to do?!
...Oh, wait. Why is she acting as if she wouldn't have enough time to save all three of them in the first place? That's the end goal, right? Right. No matter what, all three of them would make it out of this alive. With a newfound determination, she kept looking for the girl's lock to free her from the same ropes that had held Alexandria down earlier.

It looked like the clunk was the locks changing on the girls bed, and the boys bed. They keyhole changed from the keyhole Alexandria had, to a new one that did not match the key Alex used to unlock herself. It was smaller this time, and it need a key with the same design, but it needed to be at least half the size of the one she had right now. The boy looked at the key, "...u-um...what's that key made of?"

(Its made of resin.)

Alexandria stared blankly at the lock for a second. Her key was too big? But... how? She looked at her key intensely, looking for some way to solve this since there's only one key according to whoever was phone. "Uh... If I had to make a guess, I'd say it's made outta resin?"

The boy looked around, "That means you can scratch it so it whittles down...." he looked up. "Look, right there, you see that sandpaper? You use it to make resin into dust." he said, trying to imply something.

Alexandria looked up to see the sandpaper. "Ohhhhh, I get it, you're telling me I have to use the sandpaper to make the key smaller. But..." She looked at the key again. "I just hope I don't accidentally make it too small..." She went to get the sandpaper so she could begin making the key smaller. If this took too long, she might be the only one making it out alive. Or... not even at all.

Slowly, the coloring of the key started scraping away. The red faded to a bright green, showing that it was getting smaller and smaller. The girl seemed a little panicked, "T-two minutes left!" she said, while the boy struggled a bit, "H-help my sister first." he whispered to only Alex could hear.

Once the red had completely faded away into a bright green, Alexandria looked at the boy, then the girl. She only had two minutes; she had to make a decision. Since he started to speak up, that boy had been acting so sacrificial for his sister. The sister, on the other hand, had been helpful to her extensively, and Alex could again feel the pangs of guilt from their earlier conversation. What to do, what to do, what to do!? In her frustration and fear, she jammed the key straight into the girl's lock and tried to free her, with her sandpaper at the ready in case she needed to make the key even smaller for the boy.

The boy gave a small, sad smile, feeling like he wouldnt really make it. When the girl was halways free, she panicked, "One more minute left!" she said, pushing Alexandria away. "Go help my brother!" she said, her left hand free, she started to try and remove her binds by force.

Alexandria dropped the key and the sandpaper after the girl pushed her away. Cursing under her breath, she scrambled to get her lost items and try to help the brother. The girl was halfway free, right? She can take care of the rest herself. But Alex could feel the terror in the girl's voice. Was she panicking?

The boy looked over at the girl, and saw that she was doing a bit better. He looked at Alexandria. "D-do what you can for me." he said, trying to stay still so he wouldnt mess her up.

"I'M TRYING! I'M TRYING, GO***AMN IT I'M TRYING!!" She finally grabbed the key and the sandpaper and ran straight for the boy, searching desperately for his lock. Time was running out--she couldn't afford to mess this up!

She managed to find the lock, and it luckily did not need to be whittled down anymore than it was needed for the girls lock

Alexandria jammed the key as hard as she could into the lock and turned it with enough force to dislocate someone's arm if that was what she was trying to do.

Looks like she's panicking, too.

The boy's binds went loose, and he was able to remove his binds without any resistance. The girl got herself untied, and went to help the boy, "30 seconds!" she said, practicly tearing him away from the bed, and throwing him on the floor. At the last second, a voice rang out, like the one in the voice mail. "Trial failed. Commencing execution." it said, making the bed the boy was in snap up, like a clam. The boy who was on the floor got ragged breathing. "Th-th-that-that couldve been-!"

Alexandria looked at the bed with a mix of terror and relief. Taking some deep breaths to calm herself down, she looked at the two siblings with a tense expression. "...it said we failed?"

The girl shrugged, "Maybe its because he was on the bed when the clock hit 1 second left?" she said, but shrugged. The phone started ringing again.

Alexandria sighed. "Well, at least all three of us are ali--" The phone ringing cut her off. She looked at her pocket, then hesitantly reached for the phone again.

He hugged Rei's legs, making her stumble a bit. "A-ah...I feel a bit sick...I'll sit for a bit..." he said, trying not to hyperventilate. Rei patted his head in a feeble attempt to comfort him. She looked over at Alexandria, "I-Im 16, he's 13...."

Alexandria nodded at Riku's statement. "Ah, understandable. Take as much time as you need." She looked back at Rei and crossed her arms. "You're only teenagers? Oh wow. I feel old now... I'm 27." She shrugged before the implications hit her. "Wait, you're only teenagers? And that phone tried to kill you guys?" Her body shuddered violently at the thought. "Jeez. Whoever was behind that must be really messed up..."

((*laughs in there are younger children in this game*))

Rei laughed a bit, "Oh, youre not old, just...mature." she said, before the thought hit Riku. "Ah...hey, thats true....how did you get here?" he asked, trying to think. Rei looked down at Riku, "...We were walking back from school..." he looked up at her, "We were going on on usual path when this car pulled up, and a group of....how many, sis?" she thought for a bit. "....2 dozen people?" he nodded, "I think there were more, but...yeah, all those people came out and snatched us."

Alexandria uncrossed her arms and put them behind her back. "Well... I work for this place called the Lobotomy Corporation. I-it's not what it sounds like, I promise! Those eldritch horrors barely beyond human comprehension I mentioned earlier? Our job at the corporation is to keep those horrors contained so that they don't wreak havoc on the world. It's an underground facility, and its location is top secret... I dunno how those guys found it. Or found me, for that matter. But yeah, there were a bunch of unauthorized people going in there, knocking out or killing everyone in their path, before they got to me. I don't know what happened to the other employees. I hope they're alright..." She looked nostalgically over her shoulder.

Rei and Riku gave her a pitiful look. "Oh..." (Fun fact, this takes place in Japan) Riku looked around, "A-ah-! Do you wanna leave this room? Maybe we're in a place you recognize!"

Alexandria thought about it for a minute, then shrugged. For the first time since she met these people, she was smiling. "Sure, why not?"

Riku managed to get up, but he clung to his sister like he was glued to her. She patted his head, not disturbed by him. She opened the door, when she took a step back. "W-woah...."

Alexandria looked out the door to see what lay beyond their small room. "...uh..."

The phone started to play another message. "Now now, thats not fun. You saved all three? You shouldve let the boy die."

"Well, he's alive, so deal with it," Alexandria scowled at the phone. "Even if we hadn't all made it, this isn't fun anyhow."

The message went silent. "Very well." it said, before hanging up.

The girl had blonde hair and blue eyes, and she held out her hand. "U-um...my name is Rei...." the boy, who was still on the floor, looked up at her. "I-Im R-riku. Thanks for....yeah."

Alexandria chuckled triumphantly when the phone hung up, putting it back in her pocket. She then saw that Rei was holding out her hand and shook it. "My name's Alexandria. Most people just call me either A or X for short, though. Nice to meet you guys." She glanced at Riku on the floor. "You need help getting up, sport?"

The entire hall was pitch black. There were no windows, and no light source, not even a candle.

"...well uh, I can't really tell if this is a place I recognize or not." Alexandria scratched her head. "Even the facility had SOME lights in it." She then muttered something under her breath about a bird causing blackouts in some rooms and hallways when it breaches containment.

Rei took a step into the hallway. "...it SEEMS safe...." she said, and Riku followed without missing a beat. "...we should leave, right? I mean, what if another kidnapper comes and-" he couldnt get the words out.

Alexandria nodded. "Don't jinx it." She followed them into the hallway.

Alexandria could barely comprehend her current situation before the phone began to ring, since she was so sleepy. The ringing brought her fully back to her senses, and that's when she noticed she was all tied up. Except for her hand, for some reason. "Wh--what the--" She then noticed the other two sleeping people and lowered her voice. "What the hell is this...?" The phone continued to ring. Out of annoyance from the ring tone more than anything, she finally tried to reach for the phone with her untied hand.

The two other people were a boy and a girl. (My OCs) the ringing stopped once she grabbed the phone, and it started to play a message, even though she didnt press a button to make it play. The boy and girl were already awake when it started to play. "Hello. Welcome to your first trial. Would you like the rules?"

Alexandria didn't notice the other two waking up. Rather, she was entirely focused on the fact that the phone just started playing on its own. Was it possessed or something? And what's this about a trial and rules? Well, let's just play along until she can find away out of this mess... "U-uh, sure. Yes. I would like the rules."

The voice was mechanical, but it had a malice tone to it. "You see these beds? They will crush you unless you manage to escape within the time limit. The key is in your pocket, however, there is only one. Please choose who will use it wisely. The time limit is a healthy 5 minutes. Good luck,"

Alexandria looked around to see the beds. Crush her? No way in hell is she getting crushed. 'Choose who will use it'... there's the rub. If she tried to escape without even bothering to help the others, she might end up dying anyway. She wanted to ask more questions, so many questions, but she didn't know if she could. All she could do was get the hell out of there in 5 minutes, or die trying.

The girl looked over at Alexandria. "U-um...! I dont know what to do, but ah... do you think if you use the key, you can try to untie us?"

Alexandria looked up at the girl, noticeably tense. "Well, sure, but let me untie myself first! I can't do jack if I'm bound and gagged, same as you!" She fumbled around in her pocket for the key. A million things were going through her head at once and she couldn't focus on any particular one.

The girl tried to struggle against her bonds, "Gah! U-um! We should calm down a bit! I mean, if we panic, it just makes things worse, right?"

Having a slightly different understanding of "panic" than the girl, Alexandria nodded firmly. "Yeah, panicking makes everything worse! 'Cause then you either kill everyone, kill yourself, make everyone else panic, or release eldritch horrors beyond human imagination! I don't want to do any of that, do you?" She eventually got the key and started scrambling to find the point where she could use it to free herself.

There was a lock with a keyhole right next to her bed. The girl was a bit shocked, "Eh ah, n-no! Of course not!"

Alexandria saw the lock and jammed the key into the keyhole, desperate to unlock it at all costs. "Did I scare you? Sorry, you must not be from the corporation. I forget that there are worlds outside the facility sometimes--I mean, clearly we're in one right now, right?"
