Koko is hawaiian for bird.

I just checked it, and Koko is also Japanese. It's a word meaning 'here'. Other words are soko, asoko and doko.

Hmm....interesting...lemme tell ya some hawaiian stuff.

Koko=bird
Lele=butterfly
Bulu=bull
Fini=fish

The video game Pokemon Sun and Moon uses those words for their 'guardian deities', and if I put these words together, they mean this...

Tapu Koko=Sacred Bird
Tapu Lele=Sacred Butterfly
Tapu Bulu=Sacred Bull
Tapu Fini=Sacred Fish
