"Acquitted" means NOT GUILTY. If you're not guilty, then what are you? INNOCENT.

Acquitted only means the prosecution couldn't provide evidence of guilt... which makes sense since the Senate decided against witnesses and were pre-decided anyway.

No evidence of guilt = not guilty = innocent.

The House failed to put together a prosecutable case. Whose fault is that? They should have had their shit together before slow-walking the articles to the Senate.

Now go cry in your pillow and hope the next five years go by quickly.

The House moved too quickly in my opinion (historically speaking). The case is supposed to be tried in the Senate, not the House, and like I said, the Senate jury was already pre-determined and voted down calling witnesses... you have to wonder why they didn't want to know.
