The number of witnesses the Democrats used to impeach is the exact same number of witnesses they're allowed to call in the Senate trial.

This is different than the Clinton impeachment - in no way whatsoever. Any witnesses the Democrats wanted in the Senate trial were required to have been part of the impeachment inquiry. They knew this in advance, and yet they still moved forward - knowing they didn't have any evidence to convict.
