Do you know why the new block feature was implemented? Was it something to do with Jeffrey or the politics section?

From what I've heard, it was one of the most requested site functions. I'm guessing the volume of requests for it was driven by the content/behavior of just a few notorious users.

If you block someone, does that mean they won’t see your memes, or you won’t see theirs?

If you block a user, you won't see any of their submissions on the Hot or New pages of any stream.

From what I can tell so far, the only way to see one of their submissions is by clicking on one of the six that are visible on their profile page, by following a blocked comment from their profile if they are commenting on their own image or via a direct link to the image page.

A block feature is long overdue, and there's no downside - there's no user that "needs" to see our content for any reason.

The other thing they need to do is allow us to keep things comfortable for ourselves (and optionally for others) by giving us the ability to delete comments on our own submissions. Again, it's long overdue, and there's no real downside. While people could theoretically use the 'delete comments' function to promote their own fake narrative and disallow contradictions, who cares? It's not like memes are consulted as reliable sources of information.

It's amazing though that they're introducing a small, common-sense feature like this, while ignoring the massive problems with the site structure (ie, trying to claim they're banning reposts and politics from a main site stream). Until they get their shit together and put the 'Fun' stream back how it was, no other change makes any significant difference.

Except for an account owner deleting their own content, only content that's against the Terms of Use should ever be deleted.

IMO, there are users that have abused and continue to abuse the ability to delete comments within the user-created streams they moderate or own, simply because they don't like the content.

A few users abused the ability to delete submissions to their streams (not just disapprove them) and a few other users abused the ability to change anonymous submissions to display the username on a submission. Stream Moderators no longer have those abilities and perhaps never should have.

Deleting comments for not liking them isn't abuse. It's your submission. Only comments that you like should ever be posted.

When is imgflip going to go back to one main stream, so we can put this tired, obnoxious, and ultimately immoral experiment with controlling/stifling creativity and expression behind us?

I don't know if or when Imgflip will going back to one main stream will happen.

IMO, there have been many changes to the Meme Generator and Gif Maker during my time here that enable greater user creativity.

Another question for ya: I'm thinking of getting Imgflip Pro. Is there anything more to it than just the ability to make better gifs and no ads?
