So you don't think round vs flat earth is settled? I am a retired chemist and I assure you that molecular theory is settled. If you claim that communicable diseases are caused by evil spirits, you are a medical science denier. And if you tell me that the rapid warming we have seen over the last 40+ years is due to the sun, or "cycles" you are a climate science denier. We didn't just accept that CO2 warmed the earth when it was first proposed in 1896. It was studied and debated for over 60 years. But we kept testing it and it kept working and no one could disprove it so it was accepted. We keep using it and it keeps working. It makes successful predictions. It does useful work. Is it subject to revision of even rejection? Yes. But it is the engine in the climate science car. If you want to remove it, you need to replace it with something better. In 60 years we haven't found anything that works better. Not even close.

I didn't say it was a perfect sphere (although it closely approximates one), I said it was round. Technically it is an oblate spheroid. Oblate spheroids are round. (Definition of round: shaped like or approximately like a sphere.

To the extent you can PROVE pathogens cause disease, you can PROVE that CO2 warms the Earth. Proof in physical science simply means that it has been demonstrated beyond reasonable doubt.

Theory = accepted science. Doesn't mean it can never be revised or rejected. It means it has not been disproven, it is consistent with the known facts and laws, it has powerful explanatory and predictive powers, and no better explanation exists. If you want to overturn a theory, you need to provide a new theory with better explanatory power.

The radiative forcing of CO2 explains a lot of past climate change. It is consistent with physical laws. It is predictive. Despite many attempts, it cannot be refuted. We can measure the increased radiation from the sky to the ground. We can measure the reduced radiation to space. We can measure the increased temperature in the troposphere and decreased temperature of the stratosphere and thermosphere. These measurements are consistent with the predicted values.

That the Earth has warmed in the last ~40 years is not a debatable claim. We have measured it with surface thermometers, deep ocean thermometers, radiosonde thermometers, satellite microwave sounding units, and satellite infrared sounding units. We can confirm it with the expansion of warming oceans, melting ice sheets, declining Artic sea ice, migrations of plant and animal species, melting permafrost and numerous other indirect means. Most climate science deniers do not even dispute this anymore.

Please do not compare science to religion. Religion is belief in the absence of evidence. You have no credible evidence that the Earth is not warming, but you believe it anyway. That is religion.
