In my dad's case, it truly is. He quit drinking alcohol 37 years ago, when my mom told him it was either he quits or she leaves with the kids. He tells me to this day that without marijuana as a crutch, he would have kept drinking and I would have grown up without a dad. The fact that weed is illegal and alcohol isn't is the biggest joke in the world, to me at least.

I’m glad things worked out for you and your family. You may have heard marijuana has been legalized up here in Canada, although there’s still a lot of bugs that have to be worked out. I don’t get this state by state decisions on its legality. I don’t partake myself but if it helps people, I don’t have a problem with it.

Oh yeah, I'm aware. I keep up to date on the legalization for medicinal and/or recreational, all around the world. We have to do it state by state here in the U.S. because the federal government isn't going to do it anytime soon. So, we either wait forever or do it state by state. Hasn't been legalized for medicinal or recreational where I live, but it's just about as easy to get as alcohol these days. And the quality is extremely improved in the past twenty years or so. One day, this benign plant will be legal throughout the world...could be a hundred years or more from now though! The middle east in particular will take a long, long time to convince.
