It’s Michigan, if they are from there they are probably used to it by now.

I'm sure the locals know leather pants are warmer than fish nets.

Just like they know that Michigan lake is way too cold to swim in a vast majority of the year, yet they do it anyway. :)

They take saws to cut the ice first, right?

I think harvesting the ice is just sort of a tradition. And if it’s cold enough for the lake to freeze, I’m guessing no one will be there.

People do cut ice to jump in the water.

The stupidity of that is almost impressive
