NOAA already fixed it. They got tired of tainted data from unreliable and improperly deployed weather stations, so in 2005 they created the USCRN (US Climate Reference Network). This network of weather monitoring stations are located in areas where they are not affected by industrial activity, roads, air conditioner exhausts - and they're maintained by NOAA, so no shenanigans like dark paint, or being placed in areas that block the wind.
The result - since 2005 the data shows no change in climate....but nobody wants to talk about that.
