Wondering about something that would never have happened due to a wide range of factors involved leading up to the event is not productive. There is no reason the US would have supported the axis powers. Even before the US entered the war the politicians were wanting to backup Britain and France, who the US has always had a personal connection to, just as they had in the first world war.
