First, Trump proposes something incredibly dumb, counter-productive and self-destructive. All the grownups who actually know what they're doing lose their shit. "Obviously Trump has no idea that what he's saying is suicidally stupid."; Then after everybody gets all stirred up, Trump decides not to do the thing, or at least to postpone it indefinitely. And then Trump expects to be congratulated as a hero, for not doing something spectacularly dumb that was all his idea in the first place!
