A government big enough to give you everything you want is powerful enough to take everything you have....

But what other choice is there for people who don't have much to begin with?

You have to look at history, has any government ever eradicated poverty?
I'm not opposed to a little bit of help, but suckling at the tit of the government isn't going to last long.
