The professionally offended were turned into a superpower with the advent of the internet. To disarm them is to ignore them. But all to often people that normally wouldn't think they are too smart for these types fall right in because it supports their line of thinking already. I refuse to let others think for me. It was something my father taught me years ago when I couldn't explain why I was for a certain candidate other than she was a member of the party I supported.
So before I pass judgement on an actor that said something that got everyone riled up, what was the context of the statement? Before I support a candidate what has their voting record actually been? Before I boycott a business I need to know if it is just a member of the board or the company's actual position?
MEME inspired by this tweet/comment on a recent controversy:
#CancelCulture doesn’t allow redemption. It doesn’t forgive. Any thing the “cancelled” says later is picked apart and taken out of context, which keeps the individual in the cancelled camp. I love lil Nas and I’m not a KH fan, but it looks like he was expressing support.

What I don't get is how a generation raised on some of the most rebellious and non-PC entertainment the world had to offer (at least in America, can't speak for the rest of the world) became people who melt down over nothing.
Legit. I don't know what happened to social media. It used to be cool. I'm glad you even included MySpace in there, because heaven knows that used to be cool.

Lol I didn't even notice it was included ..i never used it, so I will take your word for it.
If you find your worth is in how many people are following, retweeting, upvoting, liking or posting you then you got some serious self-esteem issues. Likewise if you're easily offended by said people, you need to reprioritize your life.

Agreed. But that's a whole lotta folks...it's part of the culture & not limited to celebs. Also there's probably a lot of older celebs that don't like being on social media... they're being forced into it.
