They are squares, they made up the name “Boxing Ring” because it does look like a ring, with a set of 3 stretchable lines on each side. Because, despite it being a “square”, they should’ve named it “Boxing Cube”, but that would or wouldn’t make sense because Boxing Rings look like cubes when you see it from below, but not from top.
