I mean when you're replying to someone

I am currently at the, "It's better to be alone than to wish you were" mindset.

I definitely see where you are coming from. It's one of those terrible parts of life. I have been there. I have also had the kind of relationship that had me feeling lonelier than if I were single. And when that ends it feels bad, yet it felt bad anyway. You will eventually get beyond this, and my advice is to be sure you are past it otherwise you will end up dragging it into the next relationship where it does not belong.

You know exactly, what I'm going through right now - and you know the kind of relationship I have been in. Yes, although we have been together for almost six years, I just would feel more and more lonely, because I'm very sensitive and care about love and I have the need to feel that I am loved back. But she just isn't that type of character. She cannot build a strong relationship to someone. Even though I have always adored her many talents, her strong character and her attitude as a strong and independent woman, I was feeling lonely and in the end even rejected by her. I became a shadow of myself and in strong need of something to hold onto. I tried to live and find my own happiness without ending the relationship, but I just couldn't take it any more to miss her even if she sat beside me.
Yes, I will have to learn to be comfortable with myself again. I don't want to make the same mistakes by any means.

Wow. Six years is an investment. Odds are a lot of your daily routines revolved around her. I am very sorry you had that happening in your relationship. To be close to someone who is always far away is the worst kind.

Of course he will deny any wrongdoing. And he'll be right. At least in this case, because the naked fireman pops up on the screen in the search results when you type firemen into the search bar
