actual sexual advice girl | I HAVE DONE QUITE A BIT OF FASTING | image tagged in actual sexual advice girl | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I have never done an extended fast. Nothing beyond 3 days. I have done intermittent, as in fasting through certain parts of the day as a regular habit, also I have done the alternate day fasting. Say taking 2-3 days out of the week and fasting.

The pros for me : I find my mental and physical energy are greater during fasting, my sleep is better, my mood is better, and my urges for sweets are considerably less.

The cons: I found in the past breaking a fast that was 24hrs or greater gave me umm... the gut rumble. So anything I broke the fast with, be it liquid or solid gave me the effect of shaking a water hose. The ripples just go through the whole thing, and there had better not be anyone in the bathroom because it's about to get real. I also found fasting difficult to start. Because I have to resist eating when I really want to eat initially. Though that usually passes after a few hours, it is a hurdle. The bad breath that can go with fasting and the coated mouth feeling are also unpleasant.

Just my personal experience for anyone who cares to know.

Bad breath | LOOKOUT NIXIE IS FASTING AGAIN | image tagged in bad breath | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I don't think I would ever attempt an extended day fast but the every other day one seems to be the best option like Monday, Wednesday and and Friday. Were you taking plenty of liquids during your fast days? This book allows for liquids with some added healthy fats like coffee with a little coconut oil, bone broth, lots of water. Maybe that would help with the breath and dry mouth. I haven't been very strict on account of still nursing at night (babies are eating meals in the day) so I just have been cutting back but see a difference in energy already. They also lay out a good meal plan with recipes for non fast days to help ease the body into and out of a fast. I too am experiencing the unpleasant bathroombreaks so i need to read up more on the remedies. Could just be the body's way of flushing out the toxins too..Thanks for sharing your experience.

I never read that book. I ALWAYS drink a gallon a day. Water mostly. This is whether I am fasting or not. Depending on the fast I would do I would either go water only, except for my morning coffee. Or a you mention the broth. But it comes down to just a person's body. Some people just have a different set of things happen. I spoke to a guy who was one of the hard core fasting types. He also had the tummy thing happen. It's just the digestive system kicking back in.

Anyhoo, I wasn't complaining, just sharing really.

You're so right about the different body types. My husband can do extended fasts with no problem. I fast for an hour and my tummy and septic suffers. A gallon, wow. I need to drink more water I know. Drinking has always been an issue with me even growing up.
