hence "Special permits" its damn near impossible to get, I have a family member that that is a 35 yr ATF agent. A federal judge has to sign off on it too.
The media like conflate assault riles (which are actually illegal without a special license, have selective fire that includes full auto, and are built for military use) with "assault weapon" which means a rile that looks scary.
