As a non-boomer, I would like to dispute. Most people value life, even the newer generations. Video games causing violence is a scare which existed for a while (in fact Dungeons and Dragons, a tabletop RPG had a similar issue), not all parents are good parents (some are atrocious) but I don't think when I have children I'm gonna raise them the same way my parents raised me... and most of all, respecting the law. I respect most of the law, but what if the law was unjust? Would you be saying the same thing? What if we lived under Shariah law, a very harsh law system.
And I'm not saying that gun control is always the answer, but nor is "society". The actions of one person is not always because of "society". The reason shooters exist is because of many different reasons like mental health, abuse and even extremism (religious or political), not because of the wide population.
