Probably because he is. It's very easy to read something from the teleprompter and not mean it. It's another story to actually come out and say something, which he has yet to do. Even IF he's "not racist" as you say, there's no question that his rhetoric has contributed to it and continues to do so. Do you think he actually meant what he said?
