Well... not really. I mean it certainly SEEMS to right? OCD stands for:
Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. Many people (myself included, and maybe even you) feel annoyed by little things like something not lining up just right somewhere for example. That in itself is not a disordered thought and behavioral pattern. It's more of a quirk.
People who actually have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder find that it actually affects the way they live their life. They may do things which actually interrupt their life. I was a compulsive hand washer at one time. I washed my hands 15-20 times in a row, and I did this all through my day. My hands were cracked and bleeding. This hand washing was physically damaging to me. It was OBSESSIVE. I do not do that anymore, however I do wash my hands upon returning from being out in public. I am able to shake people's hands if I meet someone, I can (sort of) touch door handles though I will use the hem of my shirt to avoid touching the door handle at times. But I no longer OBSESS.
The ONLY reason I wanted to say this is because I now see so many people saying they have Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder when in fact they certainly do not, and that only matters because it really takes away the seriousness of those who do. Compare it to say.... people calling racism over every thing. The term has now been watered down and is no longer taken seriously due to it's over use. So when someone is ACTUALLY a victim of racism they are not taken seriously. I can think of a lot of other terms to add in here but I will spare you the list.
If you care to know more about the disorder here is a link. I hope I don't come off the wrong way here. I don't usually speak on this because not everyone is receptive. You strike me as a thinker so I figured you would be more into a discussion than some others.
