am I the only one around here, that still plays card games?

We actually play them a lot. I home school my kids. During the school year we do "Fun Friday". Which means if they did what they were supposed to do all week Friday's are well... FUN. Usually full of games or other fun activities which contribute to learning something. Baking, videos, going to the library, so forth and so on. Anyhoo, card games of all kinds come in to play on Fun Friday.

They learned how to count money by playing Monopoly. Scrabble is great for gaining spelling skills. I try to keep them interested.

When they were first learning to add and subtract. I would start with say, 0+2, and have them add the marshmallows, giving them a few more each time. When it was time to subtract they would eat them a few each time. LOL! Or chocolate chips were a good counting tool as well. Wow... that's been sych a long time ago it feels. They are a little older now so math is getting a little more difficult.

MINIATURE marshmallows I should say. Not the big ones! LOL

I figured lol. If I was doing that I'd ask to start adding in the 100s....
