I don't get why people want to change. I mean in your case you kept it basically the same so everyone knows. But the whole point is to become known so that others interact and follow us. There will be users I haven't seen in a while and if they change their name and I happen not to see it I may never know. Or I may see it but forget the new name :/

I agree. At first when it was being discussed it was said that if they implemented this change that we would be able to change our names only on a limited basis. But they totally didn't do that. I kind of hope they reverse this one. Because it is going to create confusion.
