Yes it would. Meanwhile, you can book mark the people you want to check out daily. It's not a perfect solution because you have to visit them all separately, but it's all we can do at the moment.
I don't have the energy to track dozens of profile pages on a daily base.
As of now I only check their profiles
- when I spot them on the frontpage
- when I scroll by a meme of theirs
- when they comment on a meme of mine
if none of those applies I may recall them after a week or two and take a peek on their profile page. By then however their memes are hot no longer.
And if they haven't been posting for a while I wouldn't notice at all if they're back and submitted something.
Instead I'd very much like to select users and have their submissions show up in a personalized 'follow'-stream, eg:
Sometimes I don't go to all of them. Some days I do. I have whittled down my list a bit since it seems a good many have been gone for months.
But it isn't convenient. I find I miss my favorite users activity entirely if I don't go to their page to check their latest. This is the huge draw back of having all these friggin streams. People posting everywhere and unless you follow every stream you wont see their stuff. And if you follow every stream your followed feed is so jam packed you probably won't see it anyway. I simply do not have time to scroll through all these side streams. I visit maybe 3-4 of them and that's not even something I do daily.
It only makes sense to give us the ability to follow our favorite users. That would make this whole thing easier and less tedious.
