And 90% of the time there is never a problem with the car until you have somewhere to go! Like work or an appointment or something.

Can you reschedule the interview? Most employers are understanding about this sort of thing and would schedule it for another day. Cashier's work is subject to the grumpy customer. I used to wait tables and I will tell you, hungry people are not always easy to please! LOL!

Well, you know. When a cashier talks to another customer, the person tends to feel that the talking is holding up the line even if it isn't. He must have been late to something. Just remember his face. When you see him coming try to talk less or something. Maybe it will help him.

There are THUNDERSTORMS headed toward my area as I type this out. They should be arriving between 3:00 and 4:00

Trouble is, it just so happens that I have to be at a therapist appointment at 3:00!!

Which means I will be driving in the midst of said storms!

I have a SEVERE thunderstorm phobia, as I was caught in a BAD ONE a few years back!

I am known to hang out with ear plugs in my windowless bathroom until thunderstorms pass. Today, I may wind up driving right through one!

SMH

I am a little afraid of storms too. I do not have the phobia that you have, but driving in them is nerve wrecking!

Maybe you can try to calm yourself before you drive through? Sometimes taking a few deep breaths and affirming aloud that it is going to be okay helps. I am sorry you have to deal with driving in that storm. I know dreading it is probably wrecking your nerves. (HUGS!)

I'm fixin' to leave momentarily, but below is the link to the radar now

I may just make it to the appointment and back to run back up here to my apartment and crawl under the couch before the thunder starts! LOL

My tiny state of RI is to the right on the radar

That's a huge line of storms eh? You will get there and back before that thing hits and it won't be so bad because at least you won't be driving in it! I used to stress out about storms so bad I couldn't stand to be in my own skin. I would be glued to the weather channel counting the minutes until the thing was due to pass! Somehow over time my anxiety about storms and bad weather somehow dissolved. Now I am the one stepping out in the porch to see what's going on out there! LOL!

Now I have never wanted to do that! I have a limit! I did get caught up in a crazy hail storm once though! We lived in South Carolina. I went to Quizno's to grab some subs for dinner. The sky was BLACK. I had never seen anything like it in all my life. I was so scared standing in that restaurant. Then their power went out. Then the hail s began pouring from the sky. I was afraid we were going to get some massive tornado. Finally the weather cleared and I started back toward home, and the hail started up again! EEEK! I was skeert!

Hail storms are the worst part of a storm cause they can damage your windshield if you are driving and glass shards could get in your eyes

Right! I turned the windshield wipers on hoping to knock them out of the way. In Colorado they once had hail the size of a cantaloupe. Killed some folks!

My husband works nights too so he sleeps in the daytime. So it's trying to keep them entertained /quiet, it's 300 degrees now so playing outside is limited to a wading pool and hose, driving anywhere is a hassle because the 2 babies hate car seats, I don't get sleep at night and hardly ever a moment of peace in the day. But I keep telling myself this too shall pass and they will all be in college and I'll be missing these moments (as I'm enjoying my empty house probably in a bubble bath eating bon-bons) lol

I wish we were neighbors! I would gladly help you out in some way! My husband works a 12 hr rotating shift and when the kids were small it was hard trying not to wake him up. Especially in a two bedroom apartment! But yeah, one day you will have some relief. As they get older they get a little better about being able to do for themselves a bit which is really nice.

I don't debate over there for that reason! I do not have it in me to engage in that way. I try to stick to humor. And I am thankful that no one ever tries to argue in my joke memes! I know some people are crazy rude and do all the name calling and insults and trolling. And some of that really can tax the sanity!

I think it’s just a matter of perspective.

https://i.imgflip.com/36a9yx.gif

It’s hard to reconcile differing opinions, and also to withstand some prodding, trolling, or name calling! If you distance yourself from the emotions of getting caught up in a disagreement, the political stream (and politicsTOO) is actually not so bad!

Every week I'm forced to go practice a religion I don't believe in. I have to pay attention, sing, read. And every week I feel worse and worse because I have no one I can talk to about it. My mom says I'm disrespectful when I don't stand for song service! I'm the disrespectful one? I'm the disrespectful one! Every week I play let's not break down crying in the middle of church because I feel so bad and awkward around everyone. I love the church, and the people who go there. I respect you for believing, but you can't even pretend that you care about me or how I feel. It's getting harder, and harder to keep it together. I broke down in the middle of a restraunt last week because my mom gave me another. Pay attention, and respect lesson.... IDK what to do anymore, I can't tell her how I feel, she'll get mad, I can't tell the rest of my family about my beliefs, they'll get mad at me.... My mom and dad are the only ones who Know, and I get called a disrespect bigot because I don't feel like practicing their religion every week......sorry IDK.....

Going to church to be Christian is like going to McDonald's to be a big mac. However your problems can e d if you open your heart to the ever loving Savior that died for you and me. H truly cares for you he wa te to hear your problems, though expect answers you'll will not like. But think of it a demolition before construction. You will have to die to your sinful ways it's hard believe me, but as a Christian I find it great relief to talk to a loving God who cares about my problems and he understands me better than myself. He will guide me through my problems.

This is going to sound bad, but I don't want that anymore....... I honestly don't think I can. There are reasons why I stopped believing, I mean I was a Christian for a long time.... I was born and raised a Pentecostal.......idk how to explain this without saying something wrong..... I've been there as a Christian, and I grew away from it. I found a new path, an do don't think I ever want to go back.....

But that road can only lead to hell. I'm sorry you really need to open your heart. When I hear all your problems I have such pity in my heart for you and I tell myself if only I could show her Christ. My dear friend he can truly help you. This life will still suck but there is a better life after this one. One where death and sorrows trouble us not.
Jesus loves you so much that He does for you. Dont make that death in vain. Jesus will truly care for you, trust me he wants to hear from you. He wants you to ask Him questions he wants you to ask for help to say I have lost hope, I have lost faith, I am a wretched sinner. Forgive me help me God. He will help you my friend

I'd rather suffer for the rest of my life than be happy..... If he'll is real I'm not afraid of it...... I had questions, and they just led me away, and I was criticized by the church for having them

But forget the church talk to Jesus. The bible is full of this. You cant be miserable. Now you'll always have a low all of us do. And all the great men in the bible did. But we need to get back up you know.
Jesus will help you if you're open.
He resist the proud but is merciful to the humble. This is heaven and hell were are talking about its very serious, eternal life or death. And not believing it is like not believing that you'll die at some point

*deep breath* okay I know, I understand the whole concept of hell, and heaven, and Jesus, and life, and death. I was a Christian for quite a while. I was raised in a church, I memorized verses, and read the Biblez and prayed. And the whole time my life was falling apart. I was being hurt and my family was slowly being torn apart. So I prayed and I read, and I tried SO hard. Nothing ever happened, and at the time where it seemed nothing could get worse one of the people closest to me stopped believing, and for years the church bashed them, and calls them a disgrace. Soon I began to feel that why and I tried to get them to read an spray with us..... All that ends sup happening is that Iost my faith because I listened to what they had to say. It's my choice, just let me believe what I want..... I don't discredit religion, nor don't say there's anything wrong with it, or what they believe. I just want what I believe to be respected....pelase don't hate me for that... I'm sorry...

I would tell you the pentecostals can be harsh my moms dad died when she was 8. They went to an apostolic church He could speak in tongues (that's a whole thing) which they thought you had to do to be saved. As they poor man was dying leaving behind a wife a three kids the past and he was saved because he could speak in tongues. They may died afraid that he wasn't saved. So yes the church can be harsh and God will deal with it. But you cant judge Christ based off that. He wont mock you He will listen to you He may tell you things that hurt but is only for the better.

Listen I really really really can't do this. I'm terrified of saying something wrong, I'm terrified of becoming the night I'm constantly told I am. The decision to stop believing wasn't an instant one for me, it occurred overtime, and I'm afraid that I'll never be able to believe again. I cried because someone was speaking in tongues and praying over me last week, and despite what most people though o cried because I was uncomfortable.... It's not easy for me.... It will never be easy for me to talk about this, even after typing my last comment my heart practically leapt out of my chest I was so nervous. Just...juat please understand....... I'll never be the person I used to be, and I'll never be able to believe again

I do go to church myself. But I can relate. Parents do give the pay attention and have respect types of talks. My kids roll their eyes at me for the same thing. I do try to remember what it was like at that age. Most parents do not remember being that age actually. You would think that having been down the same road they would use that experience to their advantage. But parents are gonna give you those talks. There is no way out of that.
As far as being made to go to church, I don't know. Do they not at least have a youth service there? It may be more tolerable than the adult service. I know these days churches are all so different that it's hard to say if one has what another has. I don't know that I have many words of wisdom here, because you may talk to your parents and get a firm talking to again, also still be going to church against your will. That is frustrating for you. I hate that they would call you a bigot. That's a bit out of bounds I feel. :(

They kicked me out of youth group because I'm too old....i would go back if I could..... Thanks though, I was really nervous typing that TBH....i always feel like I'm offending someone by saying that. I mean this whole religion deal has been a really big parties my life. I lost friends because of it..... It scares me honestly.
2 ups, 5y,

This is the one place where you do not have to worry about offending someone. I made this stream so we could all vent and talk as we need to. And anyone who does not wish to abide by that does not need to be here. I know that there are people of any faith who would take offense, but that is not your problem. You are free to believe or not. You may change your beliefs as you get older. I went through a time where I did have my doubts and wasn't sure what I believed. I have known people who seemed very strong in their faith turn around and say they did not believe anymore. My husband is an atheist all that being said.

You talk about losing friends over it, well those aren't very good friends if that's how they operate.I lost friends after the last presidential election. People who I had went out of my way to do things for. I would never dismiss a person for something like that. And hopefully you can find more friends who will be more understanding of you and not judge you.

Thank you! I put a little out there sometimes. I had a couple of other memes recently where I had to let off some steam. Funny though, I don't know why but I find it helps me also if I can do some good for others. Often the conversations lead to me gaining some insight or wisdom that I really need. I appreciate that so many people are helping each other out in here too.

Yeah you've started something really good, and I can guarantee you're helping people. And it's not weird to like helping others I think all that shows is that you're a kind person, probably very sensitive towards how others feel. It's really a great trait Nixie, and you're a great person!
