Wouldn't a mermaid be light skinned on the front and dark skinned on the back to help hide from predators?

Scientifically, that would make sense. It would be even cooler, however, if mermaids had color-changing traits of a cuttlefish, so they could hide from predators, attract mates and prey, and still have human skin tones if they needed to fool humans
