I actually like the style quite a lot. It boils a situation down to the absolute minimum but the feeling comes across even stronger. ♥️

Omygerd thank you! xD I like drawing in this simple style when I don't feel like drawing a set character. It actually started out as bases for animations tbh. I like trying to add the feelings as much as possible, as it is the essence of the drawing in itself, and commiting myself to a character enough to draw them a lot, especially on a ds, is hard.

maybe... but some of my favorite cartoons are basically stick figures (xkcd, cyanide and happiness,...). I love how you can get emotions across with so few lines. And in my opinion the more minimalistic you draw something the more universal it is. More detail can indeed narrow your audience, because suddenly people ask you why there's more guys in your cartoons than girls or why all of the them are white... stick figures don't have a gender, race, age,... they just represent raw feeling. I mean, it definitely depends on the kind of message you want to convey. But I like this style. 😊♥️

my interpretation was that the people who hide their feelings and lock themselves up don't realize there are people willing to help, to listen, and by locking them out they are hurting also.

This probably happens a lot to people who are 'in the closet' and don't realize people who are close to them are willing to accept them. I think. Idk much, I'm not pretending to know it all.

I immediately thought of someone distancing themselves from others so as not to hurt them not realizing that it's gonna hurt them either way...
