The other benefit is that if they swap the race/gender, they can use it as a cheap tactic shield their movie from criticism (anyone who doesn't like it is "sexist/racist") so they don't even have to work that hard to make the movie actually good.
But to be honest, if they made a black Iron Man, I would probably pay to go see it. I think it would be cool!
