Girls can dress as prostitutes for dance recitals and competitions, so it makes sense that boys are doing the same.

When my daughter was in Ballet and the recital rolled around... whooboy... some of those girls costumes were terrible. Then the fact that they dressed up a group of 5 year olds like little cowgirls, again in skimpy dress and a boat load of make up... and had them dancing to "Country Girl Shake It For Me". I couldn't understand that. Thankfully my child's class wasn't dressed as miniature floozies and dancing to something like that. Her dance instructor had some decency.

They did not allow parents to see anything before the recital. The costumes came in about a week before the recital. Not a single parent protested the costumes, and guess that close to the show they felt they couldn't do much without their child not getting to perform. Hate to say, my child would have not been participating had they tried dressing her like a hooker.

Heard that. I'd sit in the rehearsals, if I could help it. IDC if people call me a helicopter parent. In this day and age, I ain't taking no chances and no prisoners, neither. (Wow, that was bad grammar.)

Yes. Actually sexual predators will more than likely be someone you trust. They try to build trust with the parents and the bam. And it could be anyone that creepy neighbor or that nice clean cut guy with a beautiful wife and kids. Or that sweet old lady

I am leery of people who are "good with kids" and seem to easily build a rapport with young people. The are smart, like you say it will be someone you trust. And how does one gain trust? Buy being NICE, and polite, and good with kids. They are able to put themselves in a position where children are easily accessible. I have never trusted anyone with my kids. I never left them with a sitter. I took them everywhere with me, and if they couldn't come with me and my husband was not home then I simply did not go.

Yeah that thing to do. I will say me and my sister and this girl I know are good with kids. For the girl I'd highly doubt she's a predator she only 16 and seems like her mind is still virgin to such evil but I still dont know. As for me I would rather have my manly bits hack off with a sawsall than be a child predator. And I know 100% that my sister is not.

That bothers me as well. My kids do not get to dress this way. We have rules about that in this house.

One should not dress a 7 year old like she is 21.

Bikinis are just underwear, and underwear is ment for the bedroom late at night when the kids are sleeping

My kids are still young, but my oldest will be 13 next year. They currently have no interest in dressing in revealing clothes. I hope that doesn't change because there will be trouble in this house if they try it. I don't dress like that myself. I feel like an example should be set.

A good parent is do as I do not do as I say. They only person that a young girl should be revealing to is her husband WHEN THEY ARE MARRIED!!!!

These days the idea is "it's ONLY sex". It is being held in very casual regard. And that's dangerous.

all that said, I find the child pageants repugnant but respect their freedom to participate.

I have no problems with the concepts of child pageants and dance recitals, and there's certainly the freedom of dressing your little girls how you please, whether I agree with it or not, just don't be surprised when you see boys doing something similar.
