Really, Anti-Vaxxers?

I keep seeing these memes about this. As a grown woman with children who has seen the vaccine schedule I feel that I am qualified to speak here.

First off, they shove as many vaccines into these kids as possible, as early as possible. I know about 5 people who had their child suffer terrible permanent effects after vaccines. Usually after the vaccines at age 15 months to 2 years. They child woke the following day with serious complications. Yet, vaccines don't harm anyone they say. The vaccine schedule is absurd. There is no reason they cannot expand the window for when these vaccines are administered.

Second, there are some with compromised immunity who are not able to receive vaccines.
Third, if YOU are vaccinated why do you care if your neighbor is not? If the vaccine is so effective then the vaccinated *should* be totally immune right?

My kids have their vaccines, but if I knew 12 years ago what I know now I would have taken a stand against the schedule itself and spread those shots out over a longer period of time.

A lot of people really do not realize how many shots a kid gets. When I was growing up we did not get this many shots, and we weren't dropping dead from the chicken pox and measles either. I was surprised to see that these were being vaccinated against. But at any rate, within the first year of life 21 vaccinations are given. Or at least in the state my my youngest child was born in. It may vary between states. Either way, that's a LOT of friggin vaccines that early on. who knows what else they will add to the list later. Because it's always growing.

It's absurd. You can look up the vaccine schedule for babies as well. Again, this may vary between states.

I know a lot of other parents who have taken their children's vaccines into their own hands and demanded a larger vaccine window. And others who chose not to vaccinate until a certain age, yet others who did not vaccinate at all. With the illegal immigrants who have these diseases that we have eradicated streaming in here it is wise to vaccinate. But they just need to slow this thing down.

This is a very polarizing issue. But as NonDescript mentioned there is a middle ground here. I definitely see both sides and understand all concerns. So I am not judging anyone for their views here. Just hoping to speak some balance into the debate.
