I never really liked Gon. He’s a happy, optimistic boy but has a horrible personality. Mf spared Genthru (Greed Island arc antagonist) even though Genthru basically tortured lives for his benefit. It was stated that he took over 50 lives just in greed island and Gon still let him go with a smile on his face, but brutally beaten Pitou up for taking away one of his friends life.

honestly what gon did was kinda deserved of pitou. He killed kite but not only that but remember gon is a child so not only him seeing blood and sensing an aura,but also somebody close to him so he had a breakdown. NOW HERE ME OUT. Imagine if somebody puts soebody you love back together and control them like a freaking puppet thats my thing (I know I'm late for some reason I'm just seeing my comment didn't go through)

I'll never be OK with what Gon did to Pitou until he regrets it or feels guilt. Pitou just Like Meruem was becoming more human and had beauty and good in her. She felt love , fear , happiness and a myriad of emotions just like everyone else. She truly wanted to protect Komugi and protect who the king had become. She was no longer the same creature we saw when she first appeared and had become much more human and learned more emotions and love by seeing the King with Komugi. She did not even remember who Gon was until she saw Kite's body and apologized for what she did to him but nothing reached Gon and he brutally murdered her in cold blood because of his own regrets and childishness. Not to mention Kite was reborn as a little girl anyway so that means Pitou died for NOTHING! Let us never forget her devotion to Meruem was so great it allowed her body to move and continue to fight even after death. No characters acknowledge any of this this and it's just thought of as some happy and good thing that the beautiful sweet boy Gon did to save the world. I just can't accept it as some noble heroic thing.
