You are correct in that God never told him to sacrifice his daughter so that is not on Yahweh. The Canaanites were judged by Yahweh for sacrificing their babies to the false god, Molech. What else do you have? God is sovereign and the author of life and He has also demonstrated that he can redeem a life as well.

If you want to blame something on God then please come up with a better case than this one. "God didn't tell him NOT to" is utterly nonsense. I don't tell my daughter to NOT burn down the house when my wife and I aren't there and somehow she never doesn't manage to do so. There are also plenty of other incidents which God doesn't stop as well but that doesn't mean that - he condones it or is not sovereign. Look at all of the misery that Joseph went through and in the end he told his brothers who had sold him into slavery that what you meant for evil, God meant for good. His suffering brought him to a position which caused him to same many - an entire country and region. Yes, God is sovereign and of course later His Son suffered to same many as well.

Nice try but God is a God of MERCY. He did not have to keep this vow because it violated God's many admonitions against the shedding of innocent blood. News Flash- God also ALLOWED the free will of Adam and Eve to cause the entirety to fall. Does that mean that God is OK with it? No - because in 2 Peter 3:9 it says that it is not God's will than any should perish. Are people perishing? ABSOLUTELY! That means that you are missing something - Just because something is the will of God doesn't necessarily mean that it is going to happen. Context! If God stopped you and I from doing or saying stupid stuff or saved you from jumping off of sky scrappers then you would never suffer the consequences of your actions. FREE WILL - He made us FREE AGENTS. He didn't even spare Jesus from death - does anyone deserve better? CONTEXT OF ENTIRE SCRIPTURE GETS A CLEARER PICTURE.

So, God is sovereign and He alone is authorized to give or take life for His purposes. The Christian Worldview is that man is not simply physical and in reality God simply removed the spirit from the Body - as is His right to do so. When we do this it is called MURDER. Why? We aren't God. We didn't create life and we are not authorized to take it. If you have a job then your boss can do things which you aren't authorized to do as their employee.
