It's part of the Battle Royale genre in which you eliminate the other players until you're the last person standing. However, unlike most Battle Royales, Fortnite has a building mechanic and cartoony visuals. It got really popular in early 2018.

However, the hype has been dying down and it turned into a trend to bash on it.

Actually no. It's pretty much PUBG but you can build shit.

Actually, its the son of PUBG and Minecraft, but minecraft ran away leaving PUBG to raise Fortnite, but now fortnite goes to school and APEX is the school bully. The only reason is that save the world is fortnite's obvsession with zombies.

But Minecraft is a sandbox survival game. Fortnite is nothing like Minecraft.

Its just the building, and... "mining." The genes are there, but not the lifestyle
