I think that you and I chatted a few years ago before I bought my HK. You seemed very knowledgeable about guns. Am I remembering correctly?

It could have been. I don't think of myself as knowlegeable about guns though unless you caught me right after I shopped for my P2022. I spent a few months shopping. Mostly at Sportsmans' Warehouse, and Cal Ranch because they aren't picky about letting your hold their display models. I finally went with the Sig because I wanted an external hammer. This was after I gave up on getting a 1911 because I have small hands that smell like cabbage.

Sig sounds great! I ended up with HK P7. It has no safety and yet it’s one of the safest semis anywhere. No worries with a round in the chamber. The previous convo was either with you or wizardofgunmoneys. Not really sure.

Mine has no safety either. A gun with the safety on is no less dangerous than an unloaded gun.
