Corrupt or not, we need laws put in place that protect our basic human rights, such as life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Without a government, that can no longer be protected, which would lead to some bad outcomes such as invasions from other nations, and this country descending into anarchy.

Without laws, we won't have to worry about the rise of tyranny, because we'd be able to stop the rise of tyrants before it even started, because there would be no laws preventing us from stopping those wannabe tyrants. Anarchy honestly wouldn't be so bad. It's certainly better than tyranny.
