Begging for upvotes only makes you look petty, especially if you comment on someone's meme and don't upvote the meme. No one has any obligation to look at your memes and comment just because you comment all the time on their meme. But if you're going to comment on someone's meme, the polite thing to do is upvote the meme. And when you reply to a comment, it's common courtesy to upvote that comment.

If you just don't feel like upvoting someone because you never see them on your memes, then maybe this isn't the best place for you. Or maybe just don't comment on their memes.

I agree it's petty to beg for upvotes. And you're right no one is obligated to upvote or comment on other's memes but would it really kill Raydog to occasionally visit other memer's profiles and engage is some fun dialogue on memes besides his own? He said himself he doesn't look much at other memes and if you look at his comments at any given moment he only stays on his own memes. I know top users who do make imgflip about everyone not just themselves. Would be nice to see the give and take from Raydog too. I'll shut up now.

One of the problems with you newer users is that you didn't see how some of us were not too awfully long ago...I use to be every bit as active on the memes of others as DashHopes was back when I had the time to do so...I used to spend just about all my free time on Imgflip and comment on all the memes I could...both in the "Hot" and the "Latest"...I was EVERYWHERE just like DashHopes... How do you think I got to where I am on this site? Mostly from Comments. All you have to do is look at the amount of comments I got on my profile...I may not have as many as Dash does, but I have more than any other user on the site with the exception of Socrates...That's why we're the top 3 users on the site...Unfortunately, I no longer have that kind of time so I usually just come in and respond to my comments because that's something I've always made time for...Maybe 2 or 3 hours over the course of any given day...some of us have simply chosen to start spending our time elsewhere...especially with the weather getting warmer.

I'm not gonna lie...I really do miss all the great conversations I used to have with other users...Unfortunately most of the users that I interacted with have left the site...I guess one of the reasons I slowed way down too, was because I'm trying to avoid suffering from burnout like I think Dash was...I've come close to quitting the site as well but I'm still hanging in there...just a shadow of my former glory but I still show up and put in my two memes a day...My popularity is waning but that's what happens when you can't get out and comment more...I've just always been a believer in courtesy and etiquette on the site and perhaps I'm a little too vocal about it at times...Obviously with the amount of points I have, the points themselves are not important to me...they are worth NOTHING! Like SpursFan said, I just feel that it's common courtesy to upvote a meme if you comment on it and upvote comments that you reply to. Nothing more sinister than that.

Glad you're not here for the points. I think making friends is the best part of imgflip. Must be sad for you to see so many go.

I understand now. I didn’t realize before how long you’ve been here. It’s sad to see that your only 5% of the old Raydog. I may never make a name around here, nor come close to the leaderboard. But no matter what, I’ll stick with you and everyone else to the end.

I noticed awhile back that you don't upvote memes or comments that you reply to...I tend to ignore people like that...I don't see a lot of people's memes but when I comment on a meme, I always upvote it as well as comments that I reply to...it's just good meme etiquette...
