Find an image on the net that you can think of a funny caption for and save it to a folder as a jpeg. Then use the create tab at the top of the page and look for "Caption a Meme or Image" Click on that and in the new box click "Upload your own image" tab and a new box will open.
At the top is upload image from your device. Click that and find the image you saved and open it. Now you can just add you text and save, or if you plan on using it a lot, check the little box under it. Give it a title and save. This will put it in your personal meme tab.
By giving it a name allows others to find it, but you don't have to do that. BUt know how to use the edit function too. That is where before submitting a meme you can give it a title (which can be very important part of a joke sometimes) and add additional tags to help people search for your meme. The tags are those small shaded boxes on the upvote/downvote box under your meme. You can search memes by those. Works really well if you are looking for a theme week's submissions or if you just want to find say cat memes.
