The tv and cell phone idea I like. My parents were the same way, except there were no such thing as cell phones back then so it was easy staying away from that. And in order to watch tv or play our Atari, we had to do chores. Every chore had a certain amount of minutes attached to it. Clean the toilets...5 minutes, sweep the floors...3 minutes, etc. And we'd accumulate our minutes.
