Actually yes they should, in fact Mario is what caused consoles to exist. Those whom shouldn't are those ego play solitaire, making, candy crush and so on

I don't understand the stupid war games. Like I understand stuff like Call of Duty WW2 because its historical. Call of duty is okay because its realistic and it also helps my dad to cope with PTSD from war. But games with stupid shit like Grand Theft Auto pisses me off because its glorifying crime and to me that's not okay.

It's all just for plain fun. I mean when else would you do crime without consequences outside of gta?

I understand some people may like that but its the fact that kids are playing it and it makes them violent and allows them to think crime is okay and "Oh I did this in my video game why not in real life." So then children become violent and then violence between children happen (ex. school shootings). Its not the children's fault its the parents for allowing children to play games like that and young children don't know any better they're just playing the game but it is teaching them (subliminally) that violence is okay. The same thing happens with cartoons. Subliminals about violence drugs and suicide and I could go so deep into this but you are most likely bored of reading my comment.

1. No I'M not bored, I like discussing things like this, idk
2. I get what you're saying with "Oh I did this in my video game, so why not real life," and it's true, I had that thought when I was 6, and it's only a threat if the parents don't explain the difference between a game and reality. The parents should be allowed to let them play, as long as they teach their kid not to do it irl.
3. I believe video games like CoD is so you can have your chance to do violent things and not get in trouble (at least it was for me) and also more importantly have fun.
4. School shootings are more often than not (from what I hear on the news at least) is someone who isnt a student there, but some twisted dummy doin it for no reason, or at least seemingly, or like the one in Florida semi recently where a former student had a bad time and went all psycho.
So my main point is if something wrong happens, the parents are to blame, not for letting the kids play, but not teaching them right and wrong.

True. But some people are (to put it bluntly) to stupid to be allowed to play video games. A lot of parents do teach their children the difference between reality and fantasy, but they cannot control their child's actions because they are their own person. People should not be allowed to play games that are not age or mentally appropriate for them. The world has come to a point that 9 year old's are cursing and playing violent video games instead of playing outside. We have 12 year old's writing extremely pornographic fanfictions for their favorite couple instead of talking about sports or doing their nails or whatever normal 12 year old's do. (I am very antisocial and I'm home schooled) We as a society have failed our next generation. Violent video games exist for people to do violent things without getting in trouble yes, but if they try it in reality its not the same. Parents can only do so much because their children only really rely on their parents for the first 18 years and after that its out of their hands. True some parents are terrible and should have their children taken away but there are others who are good. All in all its the stupid people who really get to me. Maybe its because I'm so smart for a 15 year old but some people are just plain dumb.

1. Wow, youre only fifteen, theres not many people of our age (im 16) who can actually have an intelligent argument, without screaming "im right, your wrong" or whatever.
2. When i was cussing starting around 10 ish, it was stuff like that that gets me grounded for 6 and a half months (and counting) and that would teach you whats wrong, unless one end of the party ends up not understanding their part.
3. To me, there are 3 types of parents who let their kid play CoD, my kind where i get grounded for seemingly ever if i do something wrong, then the ones who shouldnt let them, because they cant disipline right for this situation, and the worst kind (this actually exists, it might happen to me if my dad passed, not my mom) where the kid is in charge and the parent(s) let them do whatever they want, do everything for them, because the parent is "scared" the kid would do something to them. (You should look up this 12 yo who went on Dr. Phil and they blame the videogame industry as a whole on youtube)
4. These games might be a decent way to tell them to not do it irl. Think of this, lets say a kid is antisocial, maybe homeschooled, idk, but the only games they play are like mario, pokemon, solitaire, E stuff, and never hear about guns or crime, or anything of the sort. When that kid grows up and moves out at 18, picks up gta, and finds it fun, and thinks why not do it irl, they never had the discipline not to do it, and its only ok in games, because its not real. Hopefully, and quite a bit of the time they control that thought and maybe gets guns just to hunt deer or shoot at random stuff in the woods, or maybe not even at all, but there are people that believes that its more fun to murder and rob or whatever irl. It depends on the person.
5. Idk about what normal girls do, cuz im not one, but ik most boys i ever talk to play such games, pubg, apex, cod, gta, ect, but everyone of them doesnt "seem" to want to do anything rash irl.
(Also, are you a girl, its the way you included "...doing their nails or whatever..." but idk :/)

Actually home schooled children don't have as many problems as public schooled children. Unless they have abusive parents, they grow up to be healthier people (mentally and physically) because they don't have to deal with bullying and fake friends and teenage drama and all that crap. They also are less likely to get into drugs and be violent. The curriculum we do for home school dose not take our the violent aspects of history like public school (ex. Christopher Columbus murdering a whole tribe, and he wasn't the first to discover the Americas Leif Erikson did.) They also tend to be able to live on their own better and manage their money and can cook and overall have better life skills.
True that some people find it more fun to murder and rob people irl but if you try to figure out why a lot of them have mental health issues and are sociopaths, psychopaths, etc. and had trama early in life such as abuse and/or loss of a key family member. More often then not they have a bad family history. They may have parents who baby them and sugar coat their shit for them or parent(s) who are abusive either towards them, a sibling or their spouse.
Even with games like Pokemon and Mario there is still violence. In Mario the princess gets kidnapped and you have to find her and in doing so you must hurt the bad guys in order to save her. In Pokemon there is basically mafia (Team Rocket, Team Aqua, Team Skull etc.) who murders/captures/hurts and you are practically abusing your Pokemon by forcing them to fight until they faint. Its like dog fighting but with Pokemon but its okay BECAUSE its Pokemon. Zelda you have to kill multiple bad guys in order to complete your quest. So even if you are only allowed games like this you are still being exposed to violence. Unless you only let your child play games like Jenga or Connect Four they will always find out about violence weather it be through tv cartoons, video games, history or the nightly news.
Lets say a child loves books. So she reads Harry Potter. Well the bad guy in Harry Potter (Voldemort) is practically Hitler. Voldemort wants to kill all the people who aren't wizards or witches (muggles) or people who don't have magical parents (mudbloods) the same way Hitler wanted to kill the Jews.
In conclusion the child will always find a way to learn about violence regardless of weather you want them to or not. Unless you live in bumf**k nowhere with no tv and don't school your kids they will always learn about it.

Parents who cant control their kids should not have kids and if they cannot give the proper healthy amount of discipline then they should not have kids. Children should not curse or behave violently and if you cannot stop that then you obviously aren't fit to be a parent. (Yes I am a girl)

Im done with the numbers, i thought it wouldnt go this far, and i wonder how further down this will go.
I wouldnt know anything about homeschooled children, i was homeschooled for like 3 months in kindergarten, right before my mom passed, but thats a different story that would be 10 pages long bare boned. From my minor experience and from what i hear from people who have been, it seems that homeschooled children learn more. I have been public school, just like 90% of kids, and i never really knew about that bit u mentioned about christopher colombus, and homeschool is indeed better for life skills (cooking, economics, etc), but public schools have been getting better and better for those things. Im litterally taking economics, choir, and i had culinary last semester. And at least in my school district, the high schools have programs for general carrers, like engineering, geosciences, medical professions and more (idk if you even care, but im in sports medicine and exercise science).
And also yes, i see very clearly with nintendo games and the violence it carries, but its cartoony, and its not the main objective (maybe zelda, idk that franchise that well, and pretty much pokemon are the main exceptions i can think of) to destroy everyone in your path like cod.
I cant say anything about Harry Potter, cuz never read or seen it, litterally all ik is its a magical world and harry gets a lightning bolt scar at some point, thats it.
And on the last reply, easily agreed with it all

I did not think it would go this far either. Its not very often I can find someone to have a intelligent conversation with. Even with my family I cannot go to deep because they do not understand. If you would like (and I'm not saying you have to) we can exchange email addresses and talk more there. I will delete your reply with your email as soon as I see it and can write it down for the sake of your privacy.

Well i think our conversation is about over already, at least i believe it is, and if we did exchange, i wouldn't care too much, i mean the entire reason email exists is to communicate, bit that was in the late 80's early 90's, and we have more ways to communicate, i mean look at this for example, how long has this site been running, like a year maybe 2? I just wouldnt mind if it were kept, ik its about security, and anyone could do anything, but in all honesty, idc, i got 4 accounts, and if one gets hacked, i got 3 others. Dont ask why i have so many.

We could have more conversations. I don't have many places where I can send messages. My email is [email protected] I have another but thats the one I use to message people.
