You have to fill those with ink don't you? I would spill it all over myself!

Filling a pen is not that hard. And while Pelikans like the picture tend to be piston fillers, most pens use cartridges which are easy to replace.

Putting in a fountain pen cartridge is as easy and clean as putting in a new battery.

Can you buy fountain pens at the stores anymore, or do you have to order them?

There are some stores that have at least a limited selection, like Barnes and Nobles here in Texas now carry Lamy pens in the $30-range. Most you will probably have to order online.

You may have just sold me! Certainly would solve the pen problem anyway.

I would only get the cartridge type because I have the same concern. I tend to spill things on myself...like spaghetti sauce...and drinks.
