Very few "hated" Obama... they hated his horrible politics. They were still respectful to the office and its occupant.

There are wacky individuals on both sides... There are just more and more vocal ones against Trump. Death threats against ANYONE is a crime no matter what. People have called Trump the AC as well and of course any bible scholar knows neither of them are even close.

And of course the media is all to happy to join the chorus and not be critical of the attack.
