I'm talking about the current state of those countries right now. Both countries have strict gun laws, and I have yet to see them turn into fascist dictatorships as a result of them. Not that it would be particularly easy anyway with Japan's stagnant population, and Germany actually taking the right lessons to heart from its last brush with fascism. That the best way to stop fascism is to actually target the fascists, something that our country should probably take to heart.

Not to mention West European police are more concerned with stopping "Hate Crimes" and "Islamophobia" than keeping their own citizens safe.

As cathartic as it would be to shut the tankies up, I don't think they pose anywhere near as much of a national threat to the safety of our democracy as fascists.

A lot has changed since 2015. There are even more "Refugees" in Europe now. Malmo, Sweden had to give it's police force machine guns to "retake" control.
