I have never had that happen before. Missing some context or something?

It happened to me for the first time yesterday. I held the door open for a woman (as I do for anyone) and she said " do you really think I need someone to hold the door open for me" she sounded genuinely pissed off. Thankfully most people aren't like her.

Happened to me dozens of times. All in Commie-fornia or NYC.

Well I live in the Midwest and always get an appreciated thank you. Without fail

Only up there though. Always a "thank you" in sweet home North Carolina.
