It was nice to see that one this young survived the wildfires here...but moose have been scarce due to the BC government's policy of killing off deciduous trees to make more room for loggable pine--which, ironically, contributed greatly to the voraciousnous of the wildfires in the first damned place! That policy may now be changed soon, though, now that ours is now a coalition government between the NDP and the Green Party.
Hope it goes through...and I've been applying pressure on the government to look at hemp products production--hemp makes awesome building materials, from bricks and mortar to wallboard and much more. I tested the strength of a hemp brick vs. a traditional one years ago with a 20-pound sledgehammer, and while the traditional one shattered, the hemp brick just bounced, remaining intact save for a tiny mark where the hammer made contact.
There's a lot of potential there, and with pot being legal in Canada now, the opportunities are golden, not only for numerous export *finished* products, but for also greatly reducing soil erosion and our carbon footprint. Best of all, the crop renews itself every year.
