The idea that women are not equal is flawed in itself. Just one of the many arguments that have been debunked: Equal Pay. The reason behind the pay gap is because women generally take their time working at home. They usually put home above work. So therefore, it would be unfair to pay a person who does, say, 1/2 as much work, the same amount as someone who does more.
