What about learning Spanish to understand the sale posters at the local grocery store and to sing along with the happy accordion almost polka like music?
For now English is the common ground, at least we have E.S.L. in common.

Ah, well. The beauty of memes is that they are like a snapshot into another's world to know what they feel. That's why there are so many 'Only 90s kids' memes. Because people connect with them. But, yes, you do pose an interesting point that I hadn't considered. I, personally, have rarely been in a position when reading a sign in Spanish could be a useful skill. But, whatever motivates you.
