Banning historical symbols will result in eventually our history being forgotten, when that happens all that will be left is a stone age totalitarian regime, the activities of Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham and the destruction of national monuments and historical artefacts in an attempt to destroy a nations heritage is exactly the same as what has happened with the southern cross. Best we never forget our past than hide it under a stone.
